Cross Country Ski Binding Compatibility

Cross Country Ski Binding Compatibility

There are two main norms of Nordic bindings, NNN and SNS. All brands now produce bindings that are NNN compatible, only Salomon produces SNS bindings for both skate & classic. Each manufacturer has a name for the system of bindings they support. Most modern cross country skis now feature plates that are attached to the center of the ski that bindings slide onto. These plates have names or acronyms that correspond with each system. There is a bit of cross-over, currently, both Fischer & Rossignol are using the Turnamic system which is compatible with an IFP plate, Salomon & Atomic are both using ProLink bindings which are compatible with shift-in plates.
