Tires are the most import part of the bike besides the wheel itself. If you are new to cycling you may think what is the difference between wheel and tire, I thought they were the same thing? Actually, the wheel is the metal rim and the tire is the rubber part around the rim. Most bikes come with both already put on however, when you have to buy both the wheel and tire to put on it is important to know what you want.
If you are the type of person who enjoys taking there bike on casual rides through the park you don’t really need to have much knowledge about you tires and tubes. However, if you are an avid cyclist and prefers to mountain bike rather than take a leisure ride then there are many different factors that go into choosing the perfect tubing and tire. There are tires for all kinds of biking, road biking, dirt biking, mountain biking, trail biking, the list goes on and on. Depending on where and how one will be biking can determine what rubber should be used, how light should the tire be, and how well does it grip?
