Houghton JNQ/CCSA Wax Recommendation

We have been busy testing the new fluor free waxes this early winter, if you are looking for a recommendation for this weekend’s JNQ/CCSA, see below.  We have tested waxes from Swix, Rex, Vauhti, Rode, and Start, among others, below are some recommendations that will make your skis fast in these fluor-free times.

Houghton JNQ/CCSA Saturday 12/17 - Houghton, MI

Weather-

Friday - Scattered snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday Night - Scattered snow showers, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday - Snow showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Light west wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Saturday Night - Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 23. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Sunday - A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 26. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
