Gear West Kid's Trade-In Program
Nordic Trade-Ins
Our Nordic Trade-In program applies to kids cross-country skis, boots and poles. Trade-ins can only be conducted when new equipment is purchased, on a 1-to-1 ratio. No cash or account credits are provided.
Credits are based on the age and use of the gear and are a maximum of 30% of the sale price if the equipment is current and in excellent condition.
Trade-Ins will be accepted from September through February.
Alpine Kids Trade-In Program
Our Alpine Kids Trade-In program applies to kids downhill skis, snowboards, and boots. Trade-ins can only be conducted when new equipment is purchased, on a 1-to-1 ratio. No cash or account credits are provided.
Credits are based on the age and use of the gear and are a maximum of 30% of the sale price if the equipment is current and in excellent condition.
Trade-Ins will be accepted from September through February.
Bike Kid's Trade-In Program
When purchasing a new kid’s bike from Gear West, you have the option to trade it in within 3 years for credit towards another new kids bike. This program is exclusive to kids bikes purchased at Gear West.
How the Program Works:
For bikes purchased from GW within a 1-2 year period, the starting trade-in credit is 40% of the purchase price. For bikes purchased 3 years prior, the starting trade-in credit is 25% of the original purchase price. Most bikes will have some credit deductions based on wear and tear. Common examples include:
- Worn or skidded tires: $30-45
- Flat tire (new tube): $25
- Ripped saddle: $20-30
- Rusty or bent chain: $20
- Ripped hand grips: $15-20
- Worn brake pads: $15
- Bent wheel: $40-50
- Excessive paint scratches: $20-30
