Wax Recommendations - Noquemanon and Midwest CXC Cup JNQ

We have been busy testing the new fluor free waxes this early winter, if you are looking for a recommendation for this weekend’s races, see below. We have tested waxes from Swix, Rex, Vauhti, Rode, and Start, among others, below are some recommendations that will make your skis fast in these fluor-free times.

Noquemanon Ski Marathon 

Marquette, MI

Weather-

Friday Night - Snow showers likely, mainly after 1 am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 6. Wind chill values between -5 and -15. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Saturday - Snow showers likely, mainly before 1 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 18. Southwest wind around 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%

 *no liquid is recommended due to the fine, new snow forecasted. Ironing in two layers of paraffin is recommended using the Swix Roto Wool as a finishing step.

Weather-

Friday Night - Snow before midnight. Low around -2. Breezy, with a southwest wind of 10 to 15 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.

Saturday - Partly sunny, with a high near 7. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Saturday Night - A 20 percent chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -15. West wind around 5 mph becoming north after midnight.

Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 7. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
