Join us on Tuesday, October 15th, when we’ll hear from former Gear West employee Derek Lindstrom, as he tells the story of living with chronic heart failure for nearly 6 years, before receiving the gift of a heart transplant on December 3rd, 2023. Over the years Derek has been a motivator of many and this will exceed your expectations.

Derek, a former competitive athlete with 114 marathons under his belt, tells the story of going from transplant to 50K in 258 days, an unfathomable challenge he met head-on. The road was challenging and had numerous roadblocks. Hear how Derek approached his recovery, his training, and how he was able to run a 50K in 258 days.

Next up for Derek is the Indy Monumental Marathon on November 9th, which will be a record for the shortest amount of time between heart transplant/finishing a marathon, at 11 months/6 days, with a long-term goal of being the first and only runner to qualify for the Boston Marathon post-heart transplant.
